However, in a post-pandemic environment – post-2019 – it appears that some airports have seized the opportunity to disrupt the world airport order. Over time, ‘airport hubs’ have formed as various aspects of air travel, such as passenger traffic and cargo volumes, gravitated to geographically attractive locations.
